About
Taliesin
Taliesin is shown here at one week of age with his mother, the wonderful
Trakehner mare, Tahary. Taliesin has a strong influence of his 4-star
Oldenburg Stallion, IDEAL. His daily paddock turn out involves lots of
little jumps and bucks as he has found his legs. He has discovered grain
and will gum the hay alongside Tahary. He also loves playing in the water
trough with his lips and tongue as his mother drinks. There is nothing more
rewarding and entertaining than to watch a new foal make brand new
discoveries.
IDEAL (pronounced E-DEE-AL) is an
equine legend and is even now a BREYER
Horse Model.
The IDEAL STORY
One of just Five Four Star Stallions in the USA!
IDEAL was born <http://www.ultimatepiaffe.com/ideal%20photos.htm>
January
1, 1985 in Oldenburg, Germany, a chestnut colt who
turned grey. It was here he was branded and awarded Premium Foal
status by
the Oldenburg Verband. IDEAL has matured to 16.2 hands. He was among
the
first of the new modern type stallion to become popular. When his
breeding
career began stallions of 17 hands were sought after. Often people
assume,
and incorrectly report on the various chat pages, that he is much
larger.
This probably results from his muscular physique and strong bone.

)
IDEAL was bred by the then Burgermeister or Official Mayor of
Oldenburg
Germany. (How could he be any more Oldenburg than that?)
IDEAL was hand selected to be exported to the USA to refine the
sport horse
type in North America and add excellent athletic ability by
improving
bloodlines.
1988 IDEAL was certified by the International Sporthorse Registry
and the
German Oldenburg Verband as a breeding stallion
1990 All foals of IDEAL presented were branded Oldenburg and given
Premium
Foal status. First Premium colt Interflocken record score of "8.5".
1990 IDEAL received Second Reserve Champion status at the 100 Day

1991 IDEAL was approved by the French National Stud. Facteur Selle
Francais.
1996 IDEAL was granted a Lifetime Breeding License by the
International
Arabian Horse Association.
2001 IDEAL became a Rheinland Pfalz-Saar International Approved
Stallion.
2003 IDEAL became a FOUR STAR STALLION. One of just five in the
ISR/Oldenburg N.A. Registery at the time.
IDEAL, in fulfilling the expectations of his legendary ancestors,
INSCHALLAH, ZEUS, and FURIOSO, is establishing an impressive
breeding record
in his own right.
IDEAL is one of only a few in a book of over 200 stallions to have
sired
three 9.0 rated First Premium Foals with several 9.0 scores for
movement or
conformation.
Remarkably, 54% of IDEAL'S total offspring have been awarded
Premium Foal
status by the ISR and Oldenburg Verband N.A. Ideal's first under
saddle
offspring are winning in AHSA/USDF dressage rings under both
professional
and amateur competitors.
Additionally, IDEAL has sired on line champions and Champion Premium
mares. All progeny display Ideal's impeccable jumping technique.

Olympic and International Dressage and Show Jumping riders have
called IDEAL
exceptional for both disciplines.
IDEAL, a Premium Foal in Oldenburg, Germany, received Second Reserve
Champion status at his 100 Day Stallion Testing. Awarded 9's in
jumping and
8's in gaits by German judges.
IDEAL is a 3-star stallion in the categories of exceptional
conformation,
excellence in performance testing and outstanding foals.
And, he seems to be well on his way to the two remaining stars.
IDEAL has become known for his most important characteristic, his
unique
and willing temperament. And, that of being an improvement stallion.
Often
producing get as good as himself or better from a from a variety of
mares.
IDEAL'S deceased sire, INSCHALLAH'S blood is currently very popular
with
German Breeders since it has been discovered through the generations
that
INSCHALLAH blood possesses the ideal temperament for successful
sport horses
. . . ride-ability and temperament.
